Food naturally brings people together. Whether it’s making a meal, supporting a farmer, sharing a recipe, or celebrating a special occasion: food is communal. This is what we celebrate at our Fork Fest events. These events showcase West Michigan's agricultural abundance and focus on the relationships that drive our local food systems.
This year marks the 10th year hosting Fork Fest. While we cannot gather in person, the good news is that we can continue to champion those who make our food systems strong: farmers, chefs, food access organizations, and consumers.
Here are some highlights from the last 9 years
Who's Hungry??
In lieu of hosting in-person events in Holland and Grand Rapids this year, we’re encouraging people to celebrate in their own way. West Michigan is full of farmers, restaurants, markets and food advocates that can help you find and invest in local eats!
Use the tools and resources below to find delicious, local food near you. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking!
Host a Private Fork Fest: Gather with your household and get take-out from new-to-you restaurants. Create sample sizes so you can try them all!
Tour Area Farms: Who doesn't love corn mazes, hayrides, and apple cider?
Learn about Food Access Organizations: These folks help get food to those who need it!
And make sure to tell us about it! Post your local eats to social media, tag Local First (and the local business you're supporting), and use the hashtag #VirtualForkFest.

Art Market
For the last two years, our Grand Rapids Fork Fest event has included an art market generously curated by Lions & Rabbits. To celebrate our artisan community, Lions & Rabbits has launched a Grand Rapids-wide Instagram scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt will bring you to a number of local businesses, outdoor murals, and hidden gems throughout the city. Support local art and play here!
Thank you for supporting our local food systems! Our team looks forward to seeing how you celebrate #VirtualForkFest.
